Here are answers to common questions about collision repairs, insurance claims, paint matching, and bringing your vehicle to the shop.
Ask us a questionWhat should I do if I’m in an auto accident?
First, make sure you and anyone else involved are safe and get medical help if needed. Contact law enforcement when appropriate, exchange information with the other driver, and take photos of the scene and vehicle damage if it’s safe to do so. Report the accident to your insurance company. If another driver was responsible, you may also need to contact their insurer. Ask your adjuster about rental coverage and other benefits under your policy. If your vehicle isn’t safe to drive, arrange for a tow. Burger Custom & Collision can help you arrange towing to the shop, but we don’t tow vehicles ourselves. You can share your claim information with us when discussing your repair.
Do I have the right to choose where my car gets repaired?
Yes. You can choose the repair shop you trust. Your insurance company may recommend a facility, but you can choose Burger Custom & Collision. If there are differences between our repair estimate and your insurer’s estimate, discuss those differences with your adjuster before repairs proceed.
Can you match my vehicle’s paint color?
Color matching is an important part of refinishing damaged areas and completing custom paintwork. We use a computerized paint-matching system to help match existing vehicle finishes. The final result can depend on the original finish, its age and condition, and the paint and refinishing process involved. We’ll discuss your vehicle and the work needed with you.
Do I have to pay my insurance deductible?
Whether a deductible applies depends on your insurance coverage and how your claim is handled. If you’re using your own collision coverage, your policy may require a deductible. Other claims may be handled differently. Your insurance adjuster can explain how your deductible applies to your specific claim.
Who do I pay my deductible to?
If your deductible is not waived, you will be responsible for paying Burger Custom & Collision when you pick up your vehicle. If you have questions about whether your deductible applies, your insurance adjuster can explain how it will be handled under your claim.
Can I get other service work done on my vehicle while it is in the body shop?
Let us know what additional work you’re interested in having done while your vehicle is here. We can discuss your needs with you and let you know whether the work can be accommodated or whether other arrangements may be needed. Any additional work can be discussed separately so you understand what is included in your repair.
